From An Unlikely Source: Why We Have The Second Amendment
from today's washington post, an explanation of why we have the second amendment. of course they don't come right out and say it, and if the people they interviewed said it, it wasn't reported. nevertheless, the text speaks for itself.
"We haven't exactly seen organized law enforcement out here," said Hugh Worden, 53, who lives on the other side of Powell. "The first day after the storm, we saw law enforcement out here. After that, there's not been much patrol. I suppose police are protecting the main streets."
exactly.
police need to prioritize their efforts even in the best of times. when things get really bad, chances are you're on your own, because the police will have their hands full dealing with the situation in general and problem spots in particular. sounds to me like these folks in "miss hippy" opted to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem. they're minding their own affairs and not bothering anyone else. good for them. others should take note.

It boggles my mind that everyone does not "get" this.
It all goes back to our founding.
Liberals may do as they please, but this is one wolf that's keeping his teeth.
